Group chats buzzing all day?
Patch or PullA switchboard call for each of your group chats
List your chats and answer five quick questions about each. The board decides, for free, which stay ringing, which reach you only when you are tagged, which to mute, archive or step out of.
1 Your chats free
Up to eight. Only the name is required - the rest has a middle-of-the-road default.

3 Ask for the reasons and notes
One run explains every call from your own answers and drafts a short note you could post in each chat you mute, set to tags only, or step out of. The board's calls stay as they are.

How the board decides
Each chat gets a signal score from 0 to 8: would you miss it (yes 2, not sure 1, no 0), does it have things you act on (often 2, sometimes 1, rarely 0), when you last posted (this week 2, this month 1, longer 0) and how much you read it (all 2, skim 1, piles up 0). Its noise is its volume band, 0 to 3.
The call, first match wins: signal 6+ and noise 0-1 is keep it ringing; signal 6+ and noisier is only when tagged; signal 3+, or anything you act on often, is mute and skim; otherwise a chat you would not miss is step out, and the rest are archive it. The pings-a-day figure is a rough estimate from the volume bands (mentions not counted).
Nothing changes in any chat until you change it, and the page never sees your chats - only the names and answers you type. Keep phone numbers, addresses and other people's details out of names and notes. A light sorting aid, not professional advice.
